Outcome: St. John’s International Airport was able to upgrade pedestrian safety with 4 solar crosswalks, avoiding re-wiring or destroying pavement/concrete to install traditional, hard-wired, lighting systems. Crosswalks now have lights whereas previously only signage was present, resulting in a much safer experience in a high-traffic pedestrian zone.
